In April, a workshop titled "AI in Journalism Futures 2024" was held in Northern Italy to explore the future of media 15 years from now. Organized by the Open Society Foundations, the event brought together 60 participants from around the world who spent three days reflecting on various scenarios for the future of journalism. In this rapid-fire session designed to unlock creative energy, we’ll start with a brief introduction to the possible scenarios identified in the "AI in Journalism Futures 2024" workshop. We’ll then engage in a design sprint exercise to explore how these scenarios might shape the future of journalism over the next 15 years and discuss actionable steps we can take today to prepare.
