No Code, No Problem: Build Powerful Tools with No-Code AI
Saturday September 28, 2024 11:30am - 1:00pm EDT
This workshop introduces participants to the transformative power of no-code tools, particularly in the context of journalism. As AI becomes an integral part of the newsroom, the ability to quickly prototype AI-driven products is crucial for gaining buy-in from stakeholders and driving innovation. Participants will explore various no-code platforms that allow for the rapid development of functional AI tools without the need for coding expertise. The session will cover key topics, including the benefits of no-code for prototyping, a hands-on exploration of market-leading tools, and practical guidance on how to get started with customGPTs. Through collaborative, hands-on activities, participants will design and build an AI-powered product tailored to newsroom needs, gaining both the skills and confidence to continue innovating with AI.

Is your idea ready for AI experimentation?
Saturday September 28, 2024 3:45pm - 5:15pm EDT
Form (super short!) for folks who want to submit a project
https://upsideslabs.fyi/workshop-AI-readiness-mediapartyNYC-2024

The headlines do a hard sell of the fears and dreams of AI tools and machine learning. As we explore new projects that can benefit from these technologies, we also need to get our ducks in a row to assess what we need to make a project successful with machine learning and generative AI tools.

In this workshop, bring your project ideas to Erica Greene and Ariane Bernard so we can break down what needs to be there and what to watch for for you and your organization to get going: What kind of methods are available to you? How do you define the goals and achievements that you want to measure in your project? What kind of team or resource may you minimally need? What are technical requirements in your data or your infrastructure that will be essential or desirable?

Our goal is to use real or realistic examples from the group so the learnings are immediately useful and applicable to our industry situations. We’re excited to leverage the collective experience in the room, whether you want to bring a project for review or not. But if you want us to review your project during this workshop (you/your org can stay anonymous if you prefer), please submit to our (very short!!!) form
We ideally spend no more than 15 minutes on each project, allowing us to review at least 5 different ideas. We’ll do our best to try and select a diversity of projects / and organizations of different sizes and DNA.
