About me
I am an award-winning South African broadcast journalist, queer feminist, social justice activist and writer. Before joining MDIF, I served as Acting Co-Director and Communications and Media manager at Iranti, a human rights advocacy organisation that advocates for the advancement of the rights of LBQTI persons in Africa. Prior to my work in the non-profit sector, I spent over a decade as a broadcast journalist crafting radio and TV shows covering news and current affairs in South Africa and on the continent. I have led editorial teams at eNCA, 702, Power 98.7, and The Big Debate SA as an Executive Producer and Programme Editor. I have also written on politics and current affairs, as well as gender and race, for publications such as City Press and EWN. I am a senior Atlantic Fellow for Racial Equity with Columbia University in New York and the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Johannesburg, and a Global Atlantic Fellow. I am also a Ruth First Scholar.
